Used Vehicle Warranty and Classic Vehicle Condition Gradings
Under 20 Year Old Used Vehicles
All our sub-20 year old vehicles come with a minimum of 90 days warranty and some include 180 days promotional warranty. This is an insurance backed warranty provided by our partner AutoProtect. The warranty is a mechanical breakdown policy that protects both you and us from the financial burden of a mechanical failure of various key parts included engine and gearbox. Principally it covers most items aside from consumable or age related wearing suspension parts. These policies are designed to offer you peace of mind with your purchase. Classic Vehicle Warranty
With all vehicles over 20 years old classed as a classic car or project vehicle there are different considerations. Clearly an older vehicle or classic car comes with considerations that differ from younger vehicles. The sales condition of the vehicle means that varying levels of warranty are offered.
Grade 1 – Complete Restoration Required – Typically non-running vehicle in need of complete mechanical and cosmetic overhaul. No warranty is offered.
Grade 2 – Running Project – These tend to be running, driving, braking. They will either need further mechanical work or cosmetic or chassis work. They offer a strong platform on which to build from. No warranty is offered other than a 6 month replacement parts warranty on any parts fitted by us as part the preparation process.
Grade 3 – Ongoing Project – These are usable vehicle that may require additional work not yet fully seen due to limited use or may require cosmetic work. The vehicle on test with us is usable. A 90 day engine and gearbox warranty is in place. This does not cover any ancillary or bolt on item but parts fitted by us are covered by a 6 month replacement parts warranty
Grade 4 – Complete Original Vehicle – These tend to be completely restored, repainted and reupholstered vehicles. Fundamentally privately owned and driven with plenty of test mile. A 90 day engine and gearbox warranty is in place. This does not cover any ancillary or bolt on item but parts fitted by us are covered by a 6 month replacement parts warranty.
Grade 5 – Concourse or Total Restoration – These vehicles have had nut and bolt restoration, beyond the chassis itself the everything is pretty much new or nearly new. For all intents and purposes it’s like a new vehicle. The are covered by a 12 month warranty.
